FM359, TX - Homes for Sale and Community Information

The FM359 corridor southwest of Houston often attracts the home buyer that wants some acreage amidst wide-open spaces. Many of the newer country subdivsions offer properties up to three-acres in size. Real estate in FM359 is far enough out that traffic is light and the countryside is peaceful. It's ideal for those who don't have to commute into Houston every day. FM359 homes for sale are often newer, but some date back to the 1970s.

Wells and septic systems are common along the FM359 corridor. Subdivisions with larger lots like these typically do not have common areas or community associations. Deed-restricted properties are common however. Pecan Grove, a master-planned community of about 15,000, is included in this unique area, and so is Katy. Cinco Ranch and the Westpark Tollway are two more areas typically included in the FM359 designation.

Katy Mills is a popular shopping destination. It offers the children rock climbing, a carousel, a large food court, and even a Rainforest Cafe. Shoppers enjoy upscale shops, department stores, and even some few outlet stores.

Katy is also home to Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club, a Greg Norman-designed masterpiece. The sod-wall bunkers on this 7,100-yard layout invoke a sense of true Scottish links golf. This feeling is accentuated by the perimeter roughs replete with wildflowers and native grasses. Hardwoods, wetlands, creeks, lakes, and white sand bunkers generate aesthetic appeal as well.

Real estate in FM359 around Pecan Grove offers golfing homeowners the opportunity to play at Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club, which offers 27-holes of championship golf. Lighted tennis courts and a pool are also among the amenities offered here.

Residents can enjoy the massive George Bush Park on the far west side of Houston. Named after the 41st President of the United States, this 7,800-acre park is about seven miles long. There is an area for radio-controlled planes and another for dogs. There's even a gun range. Hiking trails and bike paths meander throughout the park. If hills are a bit daunting to you on your hikes, this flatter landscape might offer some appeal. The facility connects to Terry Hershey Park.

Those looking at homes for sale in FM359 should explore some of the newer subdivisions like Royal, Goldenrod, River Forest, Foster Creek, Covey Trails, Bella Vista, Winloch, Brynmahr Lake, and Woods Edge. FM359 homes are also offered at the Estates of Brazoswood and the Lakes of Mission Grove. Oftentimes, FM359 TX real estate will feature towering, expansive oaks or pecan groves.

Horse ranches are among the FM359 real estate for sale. The highway brings one within 10-15 miles of Katy Mills, the newer mall in the area. The West Houston Executive Airport is in close proximity to FM359 properties as well.
